The Adventure Club Pop-Up Speakeasy in Private Gilded Age Apartment
DESCRIPTION Join New York Adventure Club as we step back in time for an intimate, prohibition-era celebration inside a private gilded age apartment that once housed New York’s most elite society members, including John Jacob Astor II, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and Washington Irving. Once you relay the secret password at the entrance, you will enter into a highbrow affair and be treated to: A host of antique decor, props, and parlor games such as antique radios, Edison cylinders, stereoscopes (with prohibition-themed slides), original prohibition prescriptions, and wind-up games. A magician dealing sleight of hand trickery from card games to three shells and a pea. An assortment of beverages that would have been confiscated by Volstead Act agents, including prohibition-era punch and brown paper beer. Hors d’oeuvres that your 1920s compadres would have indulged in like crudites with dips or roasted nuts. Your ticket to this unique gathering includes entry into the private gilded age apartment, complimentary bites & beverages, magician games & demonstrations, and interactive opportunities with tons of authentic antiques from nearly a century ago. Flapper fare/black tie optional.
