It was a chilly, rainy fall day in London, and Jeremy Baras decided to go for a walk. After visiting the typical “tourist” sites, he made his way to The Eye, the giant, iconic Ferris Wheel that provided whimsical views of one of the most incredible cities in the world.
As Jeremy got closer to The Eye, though, he noticed something a bit different – he saw people eating in each pod on the Ferris Wheel. And not just snacks, but a multi-course, chef-prepared meal. Perplexed by what he was watching, he asked someone what was going on, to which they replied “it’s a pop-up restaurant.”
Jeremy was absolutely captivated by what he saw, and while he had a great job back home, as soon as he crossed the pond he researched pop-ups in the United States and identified it as an emerging industry that would provide tremendous opportunities for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and large brands.
Thus, PopUp Republic was born in 2012. Originally launched as a simple pop-up directory that provided marketing and promotional support to pop-ups throughout the United States, we have grown, brick-by-prick, into the leading end-to-end service provider for the industry.
